Those plucky Brits. This is Aston Martin’s new petrol-powered LMP1 Le Mans contender, designed to take on the diesel might of Peugeot's 908 and Audi's new R15. Aston is aiming for the overall win at the legendary 24-hour race on 13-14 June 2009, 50 years after Carroll Shelby and Roy Salvadori drove a DBR1 to victory. Aston’s new LMP1 car is based on the Lola-developed 2008 Charouz Racing Aston Martin that came ninth at Le Mans in 2008. For '09 the car has been further tweaked with help from Lola, Michelin, Koni and BBS.
Button wins for Brawn GP in Barcelona - with Barrichello in second place

Brawn’s fairytale season continues, with Jenson Button taking the win in Barcelona, with team mate Rubens Barrichello in second place. Button lost first place to team mate Barrichello off the line but, after a safety car on the first lap, strategy genius Ross Brawn moved Button on to a two-stop strategy, which proved a master stroke as Button cruised in to an 11 second lead by mid-point, and ended the day 13 seconds ahead of Barrichello at the finish. Ferrari had a better day than they’ve had of late, and Massa looked good for a strong finish, but an error at his last pit-stop left him short of fuel, and he had to back off and let Vettel in the Red Bull through in the dying laps of the race to have a chance of making it to the end.

We get used to JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) cars getting updates rolled out ahead of the rest of the world, so the news that Nissan has released a set of updates for the Japanese version of the Nissan Qashqai – the Nissan Dualis – will be of interest to Qashqai lovers in the UK and Europe. The updates aren’t exactly huge and amount to little more than a bit of tinkering. Exterior changes include some new alloys, a choice of new colours, chrome door handles and a tweaked grill.
